The UPRM’s Solar Engineering Research and Racing Team (SERRT) is a multidisciplinary undergraduate student organization dedicated to the study and application of solar energy to racing vehicles. Currently SERRT is the only student organization with a functional solar vehicle not only in Puerto Rico but in the Caribbean. Throughout the project’s development, members design and manufacture solar vehicles from the ground up, applying their theoretical knowledge while acquiring leadership, teamwork and technical skills. At SERRT our main objective is to give back to the community by going to school and teaching young students about the importance of renewable energy.
